Atletico Madrid vs PSV Eindhoven Prediction and Preview – 15/03/16
Champions League preview – Atletico Madrid vs PSV Eindhoven prediction.
Fernando Torres is set to start for Atletico after missing Saturday’s win against Deportivo because of a swollen knee. Luciano Vietto will drop to the bench if Diego Simeone decides the 31-year-old will make the best partner for Antoine Griezmann. Yannick Carrasco is hoping to retain his place on the left of midfield before serving a domestic ban next weekend. Stefan Savic is unlikely to recover from a calf injury in time for the Champions League second leg and Thiago is still making his way back from a broken leg.
Philip Cocu has a fully fit squad available but will be without his goalscoring winger Gaston Pereiro who was sent off in the first leg. Periero was covering for injured PSV top scorer Luuk de Jong against Atletico but the Dutch international striker is back and among the goals, scoring twice in the last three games.

Prediction
Atletico have won all four La Liga games since playing a goalless draw in the first leg at Eindhoven. Simeone’s men defeated Real Madrid 1-0 at the Bernabeu immediately after the Champions League stalemate and have scored three goals in each subsequent game, conceding just once. Since returning to the competition after a four-year absence, Atletico have only lost one of 14 Champions League home games spanning the past three seasons.
PSV extended their unbeaten league run to 21 games when drawing 1-1 at home to Heerenveen on Saturday. Cocu’s side have won their last seven away games in the league but have only managed one draw (0-0 at Manchester United) and two defeats (3-2 at CSKA & 2-0 at Wolfsburg) while on the road in Europe this season.
Simeone’s side dominated the first leg in Eindhoven and it is difficult to see PSV holding out for another 90 minutes against an in-form Atletico side at near full-strength.
