Wolfsburg vs Real Madrid Prediction and Preview – 06/04/16
Champions League preview – Wolfsburg vs Real Madrid prediction.
Wolfsburg defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo is expected to return to the starting lineup to face Real Madrid on Wednesday. Goalkeeper Diego Benaglio played for the first time for nearly two months last Friday and is set to start despite shipping three goals against Leverkusen. Max Arnold is set to return which could leave Vieirinha to start on the bench. The game will come too soon for centre-forward Bas Dost who must regain fitness following his absence with injury.
Sergio Ramos faces a ban following his sending off against Barcelona but is eligible to play for Real Madrid in the Champions League. Raphael Varane missed training with a calf injury which means Zinedine Zidane can name the same starting eleven that won in Camp Nou on Saturday. Isco, James Rodriguez and Danilo are pushing for places but may have to settle for starting on the bench.
Possible Line-ups
Wolfsburg 4-2-3-1 formation: Benaglio; Trasch, Knoche, Dante, Rodriguez; Guilavogui, Gustavo; Schurrle, Arnold, Draxler; Kruse
Real Madrid 4-3-3 formation: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Kroos, Casemiro, Modric; Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo

Prediction
Wolfsburg have a 100% home record in the Champions League this season but have not won in three games since defeating Gent in the round of 16 a month ago. The Bundesliga side salvaged a home point thanks to a last-minute goal against Darmstadt on 19 March and lost 1-0 at lowly Hoffenheim and again at Leverkusen last Friday.
Real Madrid have won their last six games and go into the Champions League quarter-final first leg buoyed by their 2-1 win in El Clasico on Saturday. Zidane’s men drew 0-0 at PSG in the group stage but have scored 23 goals while winning the other seven games in the current campaign.
It’s been a dreadful few weeks for Wolfsburg and we expect Real Madrid to heap more misery on Dieter Hecking and his men on Wednesday.
