Europa League football tips – Dnipro vs Napoli prediction

Dnipro will definitely be without Serhiy Kravchenko and Roman Zozulya for this Europa League semi-final, second leg. Yevhen Shakhov is also rated doubtful with injury, meaning that manager Myron Markevych could go with same team that played in Naples last week.

There is no fresh injury news to concern Napoli going in to this one. Striker Gonzalo Higuain should come back in to the team, having missed out at the weekend and both Jose Callejon and Lorenzo Insigne could come back, having started on the bench against Parma.

Probable Line-ups

Dnipro: 4-5-1 formation: Boyko; Fedetskiy, Douglas, Cheberyachko, Matos; Fedorchuk, Kankava, Luchkevych, Rotan, Konoplyanka; Kalinic

Napoli: 4-2-3-1 formation: Andujar; Maggio, Britos, Albiol, Ghoulam; Lopez, Jorginho; Insigne, Hamsik, Callejon; Higuain

  • Dnipro have won 5, drawn 3 and lost 2 of their last 10 matches
  • Napoli have won 5, drawn 3 and lost 2 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Dnipro have scored an average of 1.2 goals and conceded an average of 0.4 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Napoli have scored an average of 2.4 goals and conceded an average of 1.3 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 2 of Dnipro’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of Napoli’s previous 10 matches
  • The first leg finished 1-1 in Naples

The 1-1 draw at the San Paolo last week was a fantastic result for Dnipro and one that gives them a great chance of progressing to the Europa League final. Dnipro dropped off the pace slightly in their domestic league, with a 2-0 home loss to Zorya but rested a number of players for that match. Meanwhile, Napoli did something similar in their draw with lowly Parma, meaning neither team come in to the game having performed well on the weekend.

Nonetheless, Dnipro have only lost 3 of their last 18 Europa League matches at home, drawing 1 and wining 14. One of those victories came against Napoli in 2012. With the away goal in place, any of Dnipro’s last 4 home results in the Europa League, will be enough to see them through.

Napoli will be hoping for a repeat of their 4-1 demolition at Wolfsburg in the quarter-final but Dnipro are sure to tighten things up for this one.

We say: Draw and under 2.5 goals at 3/1 with Bet365
