Newcastle have extensive injury problems as Emmanuel Riviere, Sylvain Marveux, Paul Dummett, Cheick Tiote and Steven Taylor are all long term absentees. Jack Colback and Papiss Cisse are also doubts for Saturday but could play a part.
Chelsea on the other hand are only without Thibaut Courtois long term although Willian and Kennedy have picked up knocks. Jose Mourinho will also have to replace Diego Costa due to suspension so Loic Remy is likely to feature.

It’s difficult to look past Chelsea in this game, given the terrible start that Steve McClaren has had to his reign on Tyneside. The magpies have only managed two points this term and have only scored 3 times, but with Alexander Mitrovic returning after suspension, the Geordies will be hoping for an end to their baron run.
However, in their way stands a Chelsea side fresh off of a Capital One Cup victory and a win over London rivals Arsenal last weekend. The Champions have had an underwhelming start to the season but you would be brave to bet against Mourinho turning the campaign around.
This could be a high scoring game if Chelsea turn up in the right mood but a more sensible prediction would be for a 2-0 or 3-0 away win.
