Premier League League football tips – Norwich vs Crystal Palace prediction

Norwich have been very in-active during the summer transfer market and appear to be happy to use those who gained them promotion from the Championship. Unfortunately, one new signing, Youssouf Mulumbu will miss out, after picking up an injury in pre-season and defender Martin Olsson is also out.

Crystal Palace have to make do without first choice goalkeeper Julian Speroni and therefore, Alex McCarthy will take his place in goal. Elsewhere, Yannick Bolasie is struggling for fitness, as is new signing Yohan Cabaye, with the latter the more likely to feature. Connor Wickham and Patrick Bamford are battling for a place up-front.

Possible Line-ups

Norwich: 4-4-1-1 formation: Ruddy; Wisdom, Martin, Bassong, Whittaker; Redmond, Johnson, Howson, Brady; Hoolahan; Jerome

Crystal Palace: 4-2-3-1 formation: McCarthy; Kelly, Dann, Delaney, Ward; Ledley, McArthur; Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon; Wickham

  • Norwich have won 7, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their last 10 matches
  • Crystal Palace have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Norwich have scored an average of 2.7 goals and conceded an average of 0.9 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Crystal Palace have scored an average of 2.1 goals and conceded an average of 1.2 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Norwich’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Crystal Palace’s previous 10 matches
  • The last time these teams met at Carrow Road was 2013 and Norwich won 1-0

Norwich manager Alex Neil, is counting on the players who gained promotion last season, to do the business in the Premier League. A tremendous run in the Championship, of 15 wins from 22 games, suggests that Neil has every right to be confident with his current crop of players and avoiding relegation will be seen as a successful season at Carrow Road.

Crystal Palace had a great 2014/15 season and will be aiming to build on their success but with that comes added pressure. Alan Pardew has been active in the transfer market and the signing of Yohan Cabaye from PSG really caught the imagination of the fans, who are expecting big things of the Frenchman.

Crystal Palace have more experience in the Premier League and a stronger team. The first match of the new season is always difficult to predict but Palace should have enough to get the 3 points.

We say: Crystal Palace to win by 1 goal at 10/3 with Bet365
