Premier League football tips – West Ham vs Leicester prediction

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, can welcome back defender Carl Jenkinson, after he was unable to play against his parent club, Arsenal, last weekend. However, given the great result West Ham achieved at the Emirates, Bilic may want to keep the same starting XI for this match. That means, 16 year old Reece Oxford will keep his place in the team.

Similarly to West Ham, Claudio Ranieri may resist from changing his Leicester team in any way, following a good opening day win against Sunderland. New signing N’Golo Kante, should be available but will have to settle for a place on the bench and striker Jamie Vardy should keep his place, despite off the field problems.

Possible Line-ups

West Ham: 4-3-1-2 formation: Adrian; Tomkins, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Oxford, Noble, Kouyate; Payet; Zarate, Sakho

Leicester: 4-4-2 formation: Schmeichel; Laet, Morgan, Huth, Schlupp; Mahrez, Drinkwater, King, Albrighton; Vardy, Okazaki

  • West Ham have won 4, drawn 2 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • Leicester have won 8 and drawn 2 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, West Ham have scored an average of 1.1 goals and conceded an average of 1 goal per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Leicester have scored an average of 2.5 goals and conceded an average of 0.9 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of West Ham’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Leicester’s previous 10 matches
  • West Ham won this fixture 2-0 last season

Both teams will be coming in to this match full of confidence, following good opening day wins last weekend. West Ham produced arguably the best performance of the week, turning over Arsenal 2-0 away from home and will feel that a similar display here, will be more than enough to see off the challenge of Leicester.

Claudio Ranieri’s team have three points to build on but will know this is going to be a much tougher test than the one they faced last week. Leicester will aim to make a fast start, as they seem to like doing in Premier League matches and will hope to gain an early foothold in the match. The danger will be West Ham’s counter-attacking skills, which will be more proficient than that shown by Sunderland.

This has the makings of an exciting game, with some great forward thinking players on both teams.

We say: West Ham to win and both teams to score at 10/3 Bet365
