Serie A preview – Bologna vs AC Milan prediction.

Bologna centre-back Domenico Maietta is doubtful after being substituted with a thigh injury against Empoli last weekend. Central midfielder Luca Rizzo missed Sunday’s draw with a hamstring problem and looks like sitting this one out as well. Leading scorer Mattia Destro has been missing for six weeks since suffering a broken toe against Inter and Sergio Floccaro is set to continue as the main striker. Central midfielder Saphir Taider was consigned to the bench last time and is hoping to regain his place in the starting line-up.

Midfielder Andrea Bertolacci is expected to return for Milan which could leave 19-year-old Jose Mauri to start on the bench. Ignazio Abate was replaced by Luca Antonelli on Sunday who may take his normal position at left-back this weekend with Mattia De Sciglio switching to the right. Left winger Giacomo Bonaventura remains doubtful as he recovers from a thigh problem while centre-forward M’Baye Niang is sidelined with a broken foot.

Possible Line-ups

Bologna 4-2-3-1 formation: Mirante; Ferrari, Oikonomou, Gastaldello, Masina; Brighi, Diawara; Giaccherini, Brienza, Mounier; Floccari

AC Milan 4-4-2 formation: Donnarumma; De Sciglio, Alex, Romagnoli, Antonelli; Honda, Montolivo, Kucka, Bertolacci; Bacca, Balotelli

Bologna vs AC Milan Prediction

Bologna may have turned the corner having taken four points for the last two games following a run of five defeats and one draw in the previous six games. Roberto Donadoni’s side defeated Genoa 2-0 in the last home game before playing a 0-0 draw at Empoli on Sunday. Bologna’s biggest problem is finding goals as they’ve only scored four in the last eleven games. A last minute penalty conversion saved Milan’s blushes against second-bottom Frosinone as Cristian Brocchi’s men twice came back from two goals down to draw 3-3 in San Siro. With only pride to play for, there has not been a great deal on show from this Milan side which has only won one of its last nine games. They lost 2-1 to already relegated Verona in the previous away game but did defeat Sampdoria 1-0 in Genoa in mid-April. There’s not much at stake in this game between two fairly toothless sides and it could turn out be a drab draw.
