Premier League preview – Liverpool vs Aston Villa prediction

Brendan Rodgers could do without injuries at the moment but unfortunately for the Liverpool manager, he has got plenty to deal with. Christian Benteke, Dejan Lovren, Jon Flanagan and Jordan Henderson are all out of the game. Roberto Firmino and Kolo Toure are also struggling to make it.

Gary Gardner and Jores Okore are still missing for Aston Villa and there are also doubts over Gabby Agbonlahor. Tim Sherwood may be able to welcome back Adama Traore and Idrissa Gana, although the former is still working his way back to fitness and may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Possible Line-ups

Aston Villa: 4-2-3-1 formation: Guzan; Bacuna, Richards, Clark, Amavi; Westwood, Sanchez; Sinclair; Grealish, Ayew; Gestede

Prediction

Another poor performance in the Premier League and League Cup last week, leaves Brendan Rodgers in desperate need of a positive result and display from his team. Without a win inside normal time in 6 matches, the pressure is really starting to build at Anfield and with key names missing, this match could be another uphill struggle for Liverpool.

Aston Villa picked up a much needed win over local rivals Birmingham City in the League Cup on Tuesday. However, Premier League form is still a big concern for Tim Sherwood and his team have won just 1 game in 6 in the Premier League this season. A small crumb of comfort was that the win did come away from home, plus Aston Villa are undefeated in their last 4 visits to Anfield.

If this match remains level going in to the second half, Anfield could be come restless and the points shared.
