Rayo Vallecano vs Las Palmas Prediction and Preview – 06/02/16
La Liga preview – Rayo Vallecano vs Las Palmas prediction.
Rayo manager Paco Jemez can name an unchanged team for the third consecutive game which would mean leading scorer Javi Guerra starting on the bench. Nicolas Fedor has come in for the last two games and rewarded his manager with a goal in each. Juan Carlos has been preferred in goal lately to Yoel with first choice keeper Tono out for the season due to a cruciate ligament injury. Midfielders Patrick Ebert and Adrian Embarba are sidelined along with full back Razvan Rat.
Angel Montoro’s debut for Las Palmas last week was marred by injury and the midfielder is out for a month with a groin strain. Vicente Gomez remains sidelined and unless Hernan Trujillo is given the all clear, Momo may be asked to provide cover. There are slight doubts about right back David Simon and striker Willian Jose, who scored the late winner against Celta Vigo last weekend. Young Moroccan winger Nabil El Zhar is close to a comeback but unlikely to be ready in time for Saturday’s relegation six-pointer.

Prediction
The relegation battle is wide open and any of the teams up to 10th could get dragged into the dogfight. Third-bottom Rayo are one point behind 16th-placed Las Palmas and could improve by four places with victory at Campo de Vallecas on Saturday. The home side is unbeaten in the last three games, taking five points on the way, and the 3-0 victory at home to Celta Vigo was their first since beating Granada three months ago. Rayo won the reverse fixture 1-0 in September and are undefeated in the last five home matches against Las Palmas.
The visitors arrive on the back of a 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo in Gran Canaria last weekend to take their tally to five points from five league games in 2016. Las Palmas are still looking for their first away win of the season and on their most recent road trip, lost 3-2 at bottom-of-the-league Levante.
Home advantage should be the deciding factor for Rayo who have beaten most of the teams around them at Campo de Vallecas.
