Aston Villa vs Sunderland Prediction and Preview – 29/08/15
Premier League Preview – Aston Villa vs Sunderland Prediction
Aston Villa narrowly lost at Selhurst Park in what was a disappointing result for Tim Sherwood. The Aston Villa manager will be hoping that Gestede can return the leap of faith and prove that he can cut it in the Premier League. Sherwood is likely to stick with the same team, with a minor tweak in his tactics to get a much needed win.
Sunderland have began the campaign in the same way as they ended the last, in dire need of goals. They put on a good show against Swansea and very much deserved to share the spoils. Dick Advocaat will be hoping they can put on a similar performance but come away with all three points for the first time this season.
Aston Villa 4-3-3
Guzan; Richards, Clark, Amavi, Bacuna; Westwood, Sanchez, Gueye; Grealish, Agbonlahor, Gestede
Pantilimon; O’Shea, Jones, Coates, Van Aanholt; Cattermole; Lens, Rodwell, M’Villa, Larsson; Defoe
- Sunderland have lost every game against Villa in six attempts
- Sunderland have failed to win 11 of their last 12 away matches in the Premier League
- There have been less than 2.5 goals scored in Aston Villa’s last three home Premier League matches
Both teams come into this game in desperate need to kick of their season and begin a good run of results before the hectic Christmas period kicks off.
Aston Villa will be looking to key man Grealish to produce the goods. At his young age and inexperience, he has become the man to watch out for.
Sunderland will be looking to old timer Defoe to produce what he has done on many occasions in the past and win the game with a moment of brilliance.
