Bayern Munich vs Atletico Madrid Prediction and Preview – 03/05/16
Champions League preview – Bayern Munich vs Atletico Madrid prediction.
Thomas Muller was overlooked for the Champions League semi-final first leg but could be reinstated after scoring for Bayern Munich in the league on Saturday. Central defender Jerome Boateng returned from injury to feature for an hour and is a possible starter on Tuesday. Franck Ribery has been nursing a back problem and is doubtful while Arjen Robben and Holger Badstuber remain sidelined.
Central defender Diego Godin didn’t make the bench for Atletico on Saturday despite his return to training last week. It suggests his absence due to a hamstring injury may be extended with Stefan Savic continuing to partner Jose Gimenez at the back. Diego Simeone rested half of last Wednesday’s side for the game against Rayo and Antoine Griezmann, Fernando Torres, Koke, Saul and Filipe Luis are all expected to return to the starting line up.
Possible Line-ups
Bayern Munich 4-1-4-1 formation: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Benatia, Alaba; Alonso; Muller, Alcantara, Vidal, Costa; Lewandowski
Atletico Madrid 4-4-2 formation: Oblak; Juanfran, Gimenez, Savic, Luis; Saul, Gabi, Fernandez, Koke; Torres Griezmann
