Europa League football tips – Odd vs Dortmund prediction

Odd usually like to play a 4-3-3 formation and that shouldn’t change for the visit of Dortmund. Manager Dag Fagermo will have to choose between Rafik Zekhnini and Ole Jorgen Halversen in his attacking three, with Olivier Occean and Chukwuma Akabueze almost certain to start the match.

Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel, may be tempted to rest a few players, with the trip to Ingolstadt in mind at the weekend. However, with the likes of Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Shinji Kagawa all coming off last week, they might start. Tuchel may choose to give Roman Weidenfeller a game in goal.

Possible Line-ups

Odd: 4-3-3 formation: Rossbach; Eriksen, Ruud, Hagen, Grogaard; Nordkvelle, Samuelsen, Gashi; Halversen, Akabueze, Occean

Dortmund: 4-2-3-1 formation: Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Hummels, Ginter, Schmelzer; Gundogan, Bender; Kagawa, Castro, Reus; Aubameyang

  • Odd have won 6, drawn 1 and lost 3 of their last 10 matches
  • Dortmund have won 9 and lost 1 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Odd have scored an average of 2.3 goals and conceded an average of 1.5 goals per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Dortmund have scored an average of 3.3 goals and conceded an average of 0.4 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of Odd’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Dortmund’s previous 10 matches
  • Dortmund have kept 6 consecutive clean sheets

Tippeligaen club Odd, are well in to their domestic league season and currently sit 5th, a huge 16 points off the leaders Rosenborg. However, they have already knocked out Sheriff, Shamrock Rovers and Elfsborg on their way to this meeting with Dortmund and are currently on a 4 match unbeaten run in the Tippeligaen.

Dortmund started life under new manager Thomas Tuchel in outstanding fashion last weekend, defeating Gladbach 4-0 in the Bundesliga. Although this competition may not be high on the list of priorities for Tuchel, expect Dortmund to put out a strong starting XI for this match but with the return leg still to come, Dortmund may rest one or two big names.

Despite not being their number one target this season, Dortmund will want to continue the momentum from their result against Gladbach and a defeat here could have a negative impact on their forthcoming fixtures. Odd will certainly make things difficult for Tuchel’s men but Dortmund should be able to grab a couple of away goals.

We say: Dortmund to win and over 3.5 goals at 5/4 with Bet365
