La Liga preview – Getafe vs Valencia prediction.

Getafe are forced into making substantial changes to the side that registered its first win in 14 games on Wednesday. Winger Emiliano Buendia along with defenders Roberto Lago and Juan Rodriguez are suspended for Sunday’s game while Alvaro Pereira and Juan Cala are sidelined with injury. Juan Esnaider will have to shuffle his squad, Damian Suarez is expected to fit in at right-back with Carlos Vigaray switching to the left. Emiliano Velazquez is hoping to be fit enough for defensive duties while Moi Gomez is expected to be sacrificed to allow Stefan Scepovic to partner Alvaro Vazquez up front.

Valencia could go with an unchanged team after leading scorer Paco Alcacer ended a four-month barren spell to score a hat-trick against Eibar on Wednesday. Pako Ayestaran has no new injury concerns and the squad will be boosted by the return of right-back Antonio Barragan who was suspended for the midweek game. Midfielders Denis Cheryshev and Zakaria Bakkali, defender Jose Gaya and forward Pablo Piatti remain on the injured list.

Possible Line-ups

Valencia 4-3-3 formation: Alves; Cancelo, Mustafi, Abdennour, Siqueira; Gomes, Fuego, Parejo; Rodrigo, Alacacer, Mina

Getafe vs Valencia Prediction

Getafe were given a lifeline when Alvaro Vazquez converted a penalty to earn his side three points at Real Sociedad. It was the perfect response for new manager Juan Esnaider who watched the team capitulate in a 5-1 home defeat against Real Madrid response on his first game in charge last Sunday. Thursday’s victory ended a winless run of 13 games in which Getafe had picked up just two points and victory over Valencia could see them climb out of the bottom three if results go their way this weekend.  Valencia have been one ofthe biggest under-performers in La Liga which has cost two managers their jobs this season. Pako Ayestaran looks to have found the key based on the last three games in which Valencia have beaten Sevilla, Barcelona and Eibar. Valencia have now won three of the last five away games and will be looking to end the season a high. Valencia are on a roll and should be followed against a Getafe side forced into changing a winning set up.
