Premier League League football tips – Norwich vs Stoke prediction

Norwich have no new injury or suspension worries ahead of this match, with three players, Martin Olsson, Kyle Lafferty and Youssouf Mulumbu and remaining doubtful. Considering the excellent 3-1 victory at Sunderland last weekend, manager Alex Neil, is unlikely to make any unforced changes to his starting XI.

Stoke are still without the likes of Bojan, Peter Odemwingie, Marc Wilson and Ryan Shawcross for the trip to Carrow Road. However, new signing Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to make his debut and could form an exciting attacking three, with Marko Arnautovic and Ibrahim Afellay. Mark Hughes may look at making changes to his defence but at the moment, options are fairly limited.

Possible Line-ups

Norwich: 4-2-3-1 formation: Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin, Bassong, Brady; Tettey, Dorrans; Redmond, Howson, Hoolahan; Jerome

Stoke: 4-2-3-1 formation: Butland, Johnson, Cameron, Muniesa, Pieters; Ginkel, Whelan; Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Afellay; Diouf

  • Norwich have won 7 and lost 3 of their last 10 matches
  • Stoke have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Norwich have scored an average of 2.6 goals and conceded an average of 1 goal per game
  • Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Stoke have scored an average of 1.7 goals and conceded an average of 1.1 goals per game
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Norwich’s previous 10 matches
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Stoke’s previous 10 matches
  • Stoke have won 1 of the last 4 meetings between the teams

Norwich started the season with a disappointing result in-front of their home fans against Crystal Palace, although the performance was decent. That display resulted in a positive approach at Sunderland and a good 3-1 away win, to give Norwich their first Premier League victory this season. With that in mind, Norwich look set to name the same starting XI and will be confident of getting their first points at home.

Stoke City are still in search of their first win of the season and don’t want to leave Carrow Road still chasing after it. Mark Hughes will feel unlucky his team did not get a point at home to Liverpool and but for a poor defence showing at Spurs, could have come away from White Hart Lane with all three points. Still, the recovery at Spurs will give the team confidence they can take something from Norwich.

Stoke have failed to win at Norwich in their last three attempts and they may have to settle for a point again this time around.
